Wolfie!

Say hello to this gorgeous little pup that we rescued in NC on Christmas Eve morning from a high kill shelter - we'd like to introduce 'Wolfie' to you.   He's a great little guy, very dog friendly - just had him neutered.....but he is HW positive.  The rescue will be treating him for that while he waits for someone to find him and fall head over tail in love with him.
He was listed as an owner surrender (we can't figure out WHY...he's a doll!!) and they say he's fine with cats as well as dogs - but we haven't been able to test him.
If you're looking to adopt - a foster to adopt situation might work out for you.  During his HW treatment he will need to be kept inactive with short leashed walks only.  The rescue will cover all expenses for his treatment and care.
We will update his profile as we move along with treatment - if you think you might be interested in him send us an email so we can get your application on file

Willow - almost a year old!

Willow is one 1 of 5 puppies that we pulled from a shelter in NC to save their lives...and we think she's a very special little Carolina Dog mix!  Her coloring is unique, she's got flecks of blue in her eyes (which according to the breed standard and the founder of the breed - Dr. Brisbin - is now acceptable).  She loves other dogs, cats, people, playing and hunting for moles and other underground creatures that are fun to chase!
Willow is currently down in the low country in SC and she's ready for her forever home!  We had her spayed and all of her vaccinations are current. She's HW negative and a healthy 38 lbs.  Nothing phases this little girl...she's low key and has a great temperament.   We feel that she'd do best in a home with older children (17 and up) or one with no human kids at all
She's around 9 months old, the perfect age to introduce to her new family so she can grow up with them!!
If you'd like to know more about Willow or fill out an application, please contact us at

Smith...the other half

Smith and his brother Aero (get it....Aero - Smith??) are two young owner surrendered pups in Oklahoma that SCD stepped in to rescue when they became urgent.  The shelter had them labeled as 'fearful' but once they left the confines of the shelter they became two of the most playful and loving pups!!!
They're both currently in boarding but get to play at doggie daycare each day and have a blast meeting new dogs and playing until they're exhausted.....but they'd really like a home to call their own!
If you're looking for a young, active male puppy to grow up with your family then look no further - you've found what you're looking for!  Send us an email at savingcarolinadogs@yahoo.com for an adoption application.

Scarlett - 1 year old female

Scarlett is a sweet little CD mix that we rescued from a high kill shelter in GA.  While she was in the shelter she was attacked by other dogs so we've been treating her bite wounds and they've healed very nicely (coconut oil works wonders!)
She's just over a year old and has a very low key personality for such a young dog - she bonds very quickly with humans, has no problem with cats, does ok with other dogs as long as they aren't aggressive, and is house broken.
We just had her spayed and she's up to date on all vaccinations.  She's also crate trained and loves to go for walks....that dark eyeliner gives her the sweetest expressions - especially with her ears back.  This beautiful girl is hoping she'll find her forever home soon so she can show you just how sweet she is.
If you think Scarlett might be the dog for you, send us an email at savingcarolinadogs@yahoo.com

Sage 2.0 - Black & Tan

This beautiful Carolina Dog is straight out of Texas and now being fostered in Maine...we asked her how she liked the climate change.  She shook her tail and took off in the snow after her favorite thing....a tennis ball!  Playing fetch is high on Sage's "Oh my God I love this" list!!  She's a very active pup at just about a year old - off the chart intelligence as she's being taught a myriad of commands by her foster Mom - she knows sit, stay, down, paw, focus, wait, leave it (she's working HARD on that one) and the list grows every day.
Perfectly crate trained and house broken, up to date on all vaccines, spayed, micro chipped and ready for her forever home.....Sage is the perfect dog for an active family that loves to be out and about.  She'd be fine as an only dog - but no cats please.  If there was to be another dog it would have to be a very active and playful pup - she REALLY likes to play!
Training would need to be continued until she acclimates and bonds with a new family.  At 43 lbs. she's a medium sized dog and we don't expect her to get any bigger than she is.
If you've always wanted a 'Black & Tan" CD, this little girl might just be perfect for you!  Send us an email at savingcarolinadogs@yahoo.com for more information and an adoption application.

Pumpkin Pie - Texas rescue pup

If you thought that Pumpkin was only for Thanksgiving and pies....we beg to differ!
This sweet little 6-7 month old girl was rescued from a shelter in Texas by Saving Carolina Dogs the day before Thanksgiving and she's so happy to be out of the shelter.
She's currently in boarding until we find a foster home or forever home for her.  She's up to date on her vaccinations and is scheduled to be spayed this week - so she'll be all set to go to her new home.
If you're looking for a very young female that will become your new best friend, then you don't need to look any further!  While boarding is much better that the shelter, a home with a family is this little pups Christmas Wish!  If you've been dreaming about Pumpkin and Sugarplums (maybe we'll name the next rescue Sugarplum!)....we can provide the pumpkin!  Send us an email at savingcarolinadogs@yahoo.com
Happy Holidays!!

Odin - Houston rescue pup

Odin was rescued from a small shelter in Houston TX on his last day - he's a very lucky pup!  Once he left the shelter he was a bit timid but with the help of his foster Mom & Dad and their pack, he's come around and shown us just what a special boy he is.
He's been neutered and he's up to date on all vaccinations.  We believe he's about 1.5 - 2 years old and weighs abut 35 lbs......he's not going to get much bigger than that.   He really enjoys playing with the other dogs at his foster home...but at night he dreams about having a home that's all his own.  He'd be fine with a well balanced pack and a family that will take the time to let him acclimate to his new home.
With a beautiful ginger coat and those soulful almond eyes, he's going to make the perfect addition to some lucky family!
Odin is being fostered in Houston but we can transport our rescued dogs to just about anywhere in the country.  Send us an email for an adoption app so we can talk to you some more about Odin!  savingcarolinadogs@yahoo.com

Aero (brother to Smith)...creative huh?

Aero and his brother Smith (cute huh???) were rescued from a shelter in Oklahoma where they were turned in by their owner.  Frightened and scared - they were labeled 'fearful' by the shelter and had little hope of getting out....until we saw them.  Upon rescuing them we found that these two boys were absolutely sweet, loving, attention starved little pups!

Once they left the shelter they became just what they should be - great little Carolina Dog puppies!
About 8-9 months old they're currently in a boarding facility and get to go to 'doggie daycare' each day and play until they're tired out.  Aero and Smith would make a perfect addition to a family with kids looking for a dog they can grow up with.   If you're looking for a young male to add to your family - please consider Aero or Smith as an addition to your pack!  Send us an email at savingcarolinadogs@yahoo.com for an adoption application.
