Sam - 5 year old female in Palm Springs, CA

Surf's up in Palm Springs, California!!!  Look at this beautiful girl that's searching for her forever home on the West Coast!! This is Sam, she's about 5 years old, spayed and up to date on all of her vaccinations.  She was surrendered to the Carson Shelter by her 'family' who claimed she kept escaping from their yard :(  Since we've had this gorgeous girl in foster she has not tried to escape once...we think they just lost interest and she was bored.  Sam is being fostered with her Carolina Dog foster sister who is 10 years old and they get along just fine.  We're looking for a home for her with no small children - adult only might be best - another dog would be ok as long as the dog isn't dominant.  A home that is active and likes to include their dog in their outings so she's part of the pack!!
This girl's intelligence is amazing - she LOVES to learn and she's always ready for an adventure!  If you're looking for a dog that's way past the 'puppy' stage in life and will always be ready for whatever you have in mind then send us an email at savingcarolinadogs@yahoo.com
Sam is waiting for you...she wants to be your best friend!!

Panda - 6 month old Carolina Dog in AZ

SCD has been finding quite a few Carolina Dog types in the AZ shelter system and we'd like to introduce Panda to you.  She's around 6 months old and we recently had her spayed in accordance with shelter rules. She's fully recovered and is slowly starting to show us her sweet personality.  Her fosters have found that she enjoys being outside with her foster sisters and brother (all Carolina Dogs) and she's also shown a very high level of intelligence with doggie puzzles!  Panda is a very curious little pup and she's often caught observing the other dogs when she's not stealing blankets and toys to make her own little den. She's crate trained and she's working very hard to perfect her house training - she's almost there!
We'd like her to go to a family with a quiet, yet active home life.  A fenced yard is a must as she enjoys running full speed in the yard!  She's still a bit timid so we're looking for a home that's experienced with the breed and will help her reach her full potential and become a well balanced and happy adult as she grows up!
If you think Panda might be the pup you've had dreams about send us an email at

Panda says hi to all of her admirers out there :)

Jasper - 6 year old Carolina Dog in GA

So....you know - not EVERYONE is looking for a puppy...I mean they shred your couch, shoes, papers....you have to potty train them.....puppy proof the house - need we say more????
Enter Jasper - a stunning male Carolina Dog mix that is 6 years young and has all those troublesome times well behind him....he's ready to be your very best friend. Couches are for laying on and getting belly rubs, not chewing, according to Jasper's philosophy!    We currently have him staying with a top notch trainer (check out "Ranger Dog Training" in Lithia Springs, GA for all your dog training needs and wants!) where he's working on a bit of food aggression - (we suggest letting him eat his meals in peace and quiet....kind of like we do!) and that's about it - he's just a great dog.  He enjoys playing with other dogs but would also be fine as an only dog with a family that includes him in their busy life.  At 6 years he's not a bundle of energy but he still needs his outdoor time and interaction with his family/ pack!
Jasper would love to find a home that is easy going and laid back....a yard to play in and sunbathe would be a plus!  Have you ever dreamed of having a beautiful, faithful, smiling Carolina Dog to come home to??? Maybe that dream was about Jasper!  We invite you to send us an email if you'd like to know more about him and we'll send you out an adoption application.

What are you waiting for?? Your dream dog is waiting in Georgia for you!!!

Indy being fostered in FL

Indy is a very special boy that we rescued from the Broward County shelter in FL.  Seems he sustained an old injury to his left front leg that left him with atrophied muscle causing him to limp.  He does use the leg so we're going to get him some physical therapy to help him regain even more use of it.

Indy is about 2 years old and weighs 40 lbs.  He's housebroken, walks well on a leash, up to date on vaccines and loves being outdoors!
Whatever happened to him didn't affect his personality or his love for life - he's a happy, smiling and very dog friendly guy!  He will be in foster with SCD until we feel he's ready to go on to his forever home so feel free to join our FB group page to check in on his progress!!!

UPDATE ON INDY!
Indy has been in foster for several weeks now! We've had him neutered and seen by our vet who feels he is ready for his forever home. Although he'll always have a bit of a limp, he's able to run and play and his personality is award winning!  He'd be great with a family that is active but will take it slow with him - other dogs would be a plus as he's a very social pup!
